The Fantasy gods were cruel to me this weekend, I got blown out by my brother in the league that I oversee as Commish, and then I was on the receiving end of AJ Dillon and Darrel Williams thinking they were prime CMC & Saquon! Even when you put together a great roster you can still lose when the unexpected happens, so it’s good to remember fantasy is just a game! Now let’s take a look at the week.
Ravens @ Dolphins
Miami’s defense has got to be considered a viable starter, they have back to back games of scoring 15+ fantasy points and get the Jets in week 11. Their upcoming schedule is favorable as well so look on your waiver wire this week. For the Ravens look for the continued evolution of Rashod Bateman, and don’t worry about Sammy Watkins being a threat to Bateman’s targets.
Bills @ Jets
Well the Bills backfield continues to be a mess, especially with Matt Breida getting involved, but if you started Devin Singletary you still got decent production with the rushing touchdown, he’s the best of the bunch. Mike White threw 4 picks and the honeymoon was quick, Michael Carter continues to perform, honestly trade for him before the deadline, he gets great RB2 production week in week out, and Elijah Moore got in the endzone again!
Bucs @ Football Team
This is a game that just proves football and fantasy is a lottery, I mean who would have thought the Football Team would win this game, and Antonio Gibson would have a monster game against one of the toughest rushing defenses in the NFL. Well here we are, the Bucs now get a long week to reset and coming off two straight losses they’ll look to rebound against the Giants on Week 11’s MNF. That could be a real beat down in Tampa, and all your Bucs will be must starts in that one.
Falcons @ Cowboys
Yeesh did I get it wrong on the Cowboys defense and Matt Ryan. That Dallas defense went ham but they are away at the Chiefs next week so that should reign in expectations. I’m not high on Cowboys pass catchers outside of Ceedee Lamb, the ball just gets spread around too much and with Michael Gallup back it’s going to leave a few hungry hippos in Dallas. For the Falcons Wayne Gallman is great waiver add this week with the Patterson injury.
Saints @ Titans
Mark Ingram was awesome in this one, and he should be a high end RB3/low end RB2 even when Kamara is back. I said it last week, look for Saints to manage the miles on Kamara now Ingram is back in the Louisiana. Also shout out to Trevor Siemian looking great and giving the Saints a chance to win. D’Onta Foreman looks like the better rusher for the Titans, but the question is will he get those high value redzone touches moving forward, he should still be picked up this week.
Jaguars @ Colts
Gosh just as we were getting comfortable with Carson Wentz as a low end starter in single QB leagues he gives us 180 yds and no touchdowns. Jaguars wide receivers are now nothing but speculative bench depth and cannot be consider anything other than dice roll flex plays. Not much to see here for fantasy value.
Lions @ Steelers
This was just ugly, and the Lions should’ve won it, and all I have to say is Mr Swift was awesome and is delivering from that RB draft deadzone (rounds 4-6) this season.
Browns @ Patriots
Woah, the Patriots squashed the Browns and from all accounts the offence looked like what you’d expect from a Brady led New England team. Jakobi Meyers finally got a touchdown, whoop whoop, but I think Kendrick Bourne is guy with the most upside. It’s going to be interesting to see the backfield touch count if Harris is active on TNF, because Rhamondre Stevenson was awesome and that’s a bummer for Harris owners. Interesting week for Cleveland as they may get Chubb and Kareem Hunt back.
Vikings @ Chargers
Another rough game for the Chargers stars, Ekeler had a touchdown vultured by Larry Rountree III but hey the celebration was worth it. Mike Williams and Justin Herbert can’t seem to get back on the same page, Herbert’s fantasy numbers have been really frustrating for owners, but the upside is always going to be there. The Vikings are really good when they feed Justin Jefferson and they did just that on Sunday. Tyler Conklin caught 2 touchdowns on 3 receptions and 13 yds, great return if you started him, but the lack of yards was concerning, he remains a low end TE1.
Panthers @ Cardinals
He’s back, and it was awesome, a touchdown each coming from his first rushing and passing attempt, Cam Newton is a great streaming option in 1 QB leagues and a must add in 2 QB leagues if he starts against Washington. He’ll probably vulture some redzone carries from CMC, but he should provide more value to DJ Moore. This was an upset for Arizona even with Kyler Murray out, Eno Benjamin is a decent stash with Chase Edmonds on the sidelines, he got 6 carries to James Conner’s 10 so monitor the Cards backfield.
Eagles @ Broncos
The Broncos beat Dallas on the road last week but got whooped by Philadelphia at home, say what? And how about Teddy Bridgewater’s mega effort after Melvin Gordon’s fumble, I think we’ll see Javonte Williams take more of a prominent role after the Broncos bye. For the Eagles Dallas Goedert left with a concussion and his status needs to be monitored, his potential replacement is not worth looking at. Miles Sanders may well be back this week but I wouldn’t be starting him until we know how he and the backfield looks.
Seahawks @ Packers
Seattle was super disappointing with Russell Wilson back, it’s a concern for Metcalf and Lockett moving forward if Wilson is truly challenged by his hand injury. AJ Dillon is going to be a top 5 running back until Aaron Jones returns, and it might raise questions as to why Green Bay gave Jones such a large extension. He’s a definite trade candidate for RB/win now needy managers.
Chiefs @ Raiders
Mahomes was back to prime Mahomes, and let’s hope it continues, the league is a better place when that KC offense is performing. If you traded Tyreek Hill before the weekend I feel real sorry for you, he’s one of the most traded players of the season, and I really don’t know why. Las Vegas need a reset, it’s been tough watching them the last few weeks, and I really don’t know what DeSean Jackson was doing on that fumble. Bryan Edwards showed the value we hoped for post HR3, he’s a worthy bench filler with the possibility of it continuing.
Rams @ 49ers
Matt Stafford is looking like he left Detroit but he kept the Lions part, his play these past few weeks has been really questionable. OBJ cannot be considered a viable flex option until we see a decent body of work. The 49ers were extremely physical on both sides of the ball and gave a clear blueprint on how to beat up on the Rams. The run game was awesome, Deebo Samuel’s value is at all time high and if Eli Mitchell remains healthy he’s an elite RB2 rest of season.
