Broncos @ Browns
Jerry Jeudy is reportedly returning in week 8 and this will have an impact on Broncos pass catchers. The overall concern with any Denver receiver is QB Teddy Bridgewater, his completion percentage and QBR has declined throughout the season and he’s thrown 5 int’s across his last 3 starts. I don’t think he can support anyone beyond Sutton and Jeudy upon his return.
Panthers @ Giants
The Panthers D/ST will continue to be a viable option in your lineups over the middle part of the season. Yes they had a down week against a plus matchup on Sunday but they have generated turnovers in 4 out of 7 games this season and have two more plus matchups in the coming weeks against turnover prone offences in Atlanta and New England (Hello Stephon Gilmore debut).
Jets @ Patriots
The Patriots backfield continues to be a frustration for Damien Harris owners however I firmly believe you should confidently have him in your lineups. Whilst he gave up 9 carries to JJ Taylor in effective garbage time he had a monstrous 7.6 ypc and hit the century mark from only 14 carries. He really passed the eye test in this game, running with power and precision and constantly gaining extra yards once contact was initiated, it was also his third straight game with a rushing TD.
Chiefs @ Titans
The Chiefs don’t look or feel good but you should regularly trust their big 3 in Mahomes, Kelce and Hill. Their defense will continue to be porous resulting in plenty of pass heavy game scripts offsetting points against. An immediate punchbag opponent in the Giants is up in week 8 followed by likely high scoring affairs with the Packers, Raiders and Cowboys before their week 12 bye. My advice; pickup those telephones and explore trading for these KC studs.
Football Team @ Packers
It’s time to bench the Packers D/ST, cue gasps! They have had a solid start to the season with 6 straight games yielding multiple sacks and turnovers but look at their upcoming schedule. With a Thursday Night game opening up week 8 against the high scoring undefeated Cardinals, the cheeseheads then see the Chiefs, Seahawks, Vikings and Rams. These are matchups you’ll want to avoid so managers should be looking at other streaming options in the coming weeks.
Falcons @ Dolphins
It was national Tight End day and I don’t think you need to look much further for a better performance than Kyle Pitts. The Gator alumni is the real deal and if you’ve been storing a viable TE on your bench in case the rookie didn't work out, trade that depth immediately. Pitts is a week in week out TE1 and should be in your lineup regardless of matchup for the rest of the season, congratulations you have reached TE nirvana. Props to Pitts opposite number Mike Gesicki who has lined up outside on a whopping 93.6% of his snaps this season.
Bengals @ Ravens
It would be easy for me to heap praise on Ja’Marr Chase here but the guy I focused on in this game was another rookie receiver Rashod Bateman. His 20.7% target share across his two active games is very encouraging and given his size in comparison to Hollywood Brown I feel the Ravens will gameplan to establish their first round pick. The Minnesota product should be available in most leagues, he is 32% rostered in yahoo, and he should be added in 12+ person formats.
Lions @ Rams
For receiver needy teams looking for guys that are more than likely available, this was a great game to cast an eye over. Kalif Raymond and Van Jefferson Jr are two receivers that can continue to be bye week fillers and solid squad depth. Raymond has 6 catches in two consecutive games and with the Lions receiving corps hit with injuries he provides WR3 appeal against the Eagles in week 8. On the other side Jefferson Jr scored his 3rd tuddy of the season and is getting serious looks in the Rams vertical passing game. He’s a worthy pickup considering the soft schedule the Rams face over the coming weeks.
Eagles @ Raiders
Goedert is the man in Philly now that Zach Ertz has left the building. Interestingly no other TE saw a target for the Eagles and managers should have no qualms dialing up Goedert for the rest of the season. The remaining slate he has is salivating with two games against both the Giants and Football team, plus matchups against the Jets and Lions. Expect big things from the Eagles newly established TE1 who will be a league winner given his fantasy playoff schedule.
Texans @ Cardinals
Brand names; this is a phrase my friends and I use to describe former high performing fantasy relevant players and Houston is full of them. Names such as David Johnson, Mark Ingram, Phillip Lindsay and Danny Amendola are fantasy has beens and should no longer waste a spot on your roster. Their time is over and Houston is where fantasy dreams go to die, move on people.
Bears @ Bucs
Allen Robinson can no longer be trusted in your fantasy lineups as there is no apparent rapport with the Bears rookie QB. The only way I see him being worthy of a bench slot is if he possibly gets traded before the November 2nd trade deadline. However the likelihood of this is slim as there are no reported trade rumors concerning the 8th year veteran. If you can get anything for him with a desperate trade partner, I strongly recommend doing so.
Colts @ 49ers
In recent seasons it’s been hard to trust the Niner’s backfield with Kyle Shanahan constantly flipping between starters but I think Elijah Mitchell just showed he’s the guy. The rookie looked awesome in the game's first drive and dominated carries and snaps with little indication of a change moving forward. Mitchell owners should hope Garoppolo remains QB1 in San Fran as his floor is lowered with Lance under center.
